Hair loss can lead to self consciousness or low self esteem. You feel uncomfortable in your own skin and look.
I don’t have a long hair but it saddens me when the short one I have fall off or break or thinning.
So, what do you do when you realise your edges won’t stop receding? Or how do you get over the horror of seeing large chunk of hair clinging to your brush or comb every time you use them?
There are some natural or home remedy you can use to reduce hair loss or prevent it.
- Get a handful of guava leaves and blend or grind to a smooth paste.
- Apply the paste on your scalp and leave for about an hour
- Rinse with lukewarm water.
- You can do this 2-3 times a week.
Using Onion Juice
Onion is a natural hair booster. It’s stimulates and improves blood circulation to the scalp.
Onion contains sulphur and antibacterial properties.
Sulphur nourishes hair follicles, reduces hair loss, thinning and breakage. The antibacterial agents help treat and prevent scalp infections.
How to Use Onions to Reduce Hair Loss
- Blend or grate onions to get the juice.
- Add Lemon grass juice or oil
- Pour into a bottle that you can spray into your hair.
- Or use cotton balls to massage into your scalp
- Leave on for 45mins-1hr.
- Wash with mild shampoo or lukewarm water.
- Do it 3-4 times a week.
Coconut oil makes hair lustrous and healthy. It also stimulates blood circulation to the scalp and hair growth.
You can massage coconut oil into your hair and leave overnight. Or apply before or after washing your hair. If your hair is oily, you can leave in for few hours and wash.
Aloe Vera Gel
Natural Aloe vera gel is a great remedy for hair loss or breakage. It soothes and heals damaged scalp and reduces dandruff.
Massage pure aloe vera gel to your hair, leave on for about 45minutes and rinse off. You can do this 3-4 times a week.
You can also include hair shampoo or conditioner containing aloe vera in your hair treatment.
For any plan, natural or otherwise to work, consistency is important. Pick anyone that actually suits you and be consistent including it in your routine at least twice a week.
Talk to your Doctor if your hair loss/fall start at a young age or suddenly, or after taking certain medications.
